Denture dentist Dr. Adam Hahn grew up in Columbia–he went to high school at Chapin High School. Other than the time working on his college degrees—he received his BS from Tulane University in 1997 and his DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 2003—he has lived in Columbia all his life. He returned to practice with his father not only because of his love for South Carolina and its people, but also because he shares his father’s commitment to delivering nothing but the best care a denture dentist can deliver.
Although he follows in his father’s footsteps for many aspects of dental care, he preceded his father in one way: he was the first to receive the honor of being declared a Fellow by LVI for his extensive training in cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry. He applies neuromuscular dentistry as a denture dentist who helps patients with FOY® Dentures. Dr. Adam Hahn was awarded the Horace Wells Senior Student Award for outstanding achievement in the field of dental anesthesiology, and, like his father, was honored with a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Paul Hahn
Dr. Paul Hahn is a denture dentist who has been practicing dentistry in South Carolina for nearly 40 years, mostly in Columbia. His sincere concern for his patients drive him to constantly improve his knowledge and his technique. He also commits to using the best proven technologies and the dental materials shown to give patients the best results. It is this concern for his patients that inspired him to become trained in neuromuscular dentistry and apply that training as a denture dentist crafting FOY® Dentures.
Dr. Paul Hahn received his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, but moved south when the AS Army Dental Corps stationed him in Columbia at Fort Jackson. Enchanted by the beauty of South Carolina, and the friendliness of its people, Dr. Hahn decided to open a private practice in Columbia. He has moved locations many times in the city, but many of his patients have followed him through all the moves. He has some patients who have been with him since he began practicing, just one of many signs of the quality care he offers.
Dr. Hahn is not just a denture dentist, but has advanced training in many types of dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, sedation dentistry, dental implants, and more. He has been named a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a rare honor.
In the past, people always accepted that dentures didn't work very well. They didn't fit properly, didn't work properly, were uncomfortable, and sometimes accelerated the loss of jawbone that led to the sunken-in appearance associated with age and with denture wearers.
This was true in Columbia as it was elsewhere, but not anymore. At Smile Columbia Dentistry, the goal is to ensure people can get quality dentures that fit better, feel better, function better, and look better.
FOY® Dentures are designed using neuromuscular principles to help them rest evenly on your gums, which helps them stay secure and reduces pressure points that can cause discomfort and speed bone loss. Because they are designed to fit a mouth in motion, they remain secure when you move your mouth for talking and chewing.
And because they are secure, they can be designed with your teeth in a natural position that supports fullness of the mouth, lips, and face, unlike traditional dentures that try to make dentures more stable by moving teeth inward, toward the tongue. FOY® Dentures also work to build up teeth to a youthful height, restoring the proportions of the face, reducing jowls, sagging skin, facial folds, and other signs of aging.
These benefits make FOY® Dentures the best option for our patients, and we are happy to offer them to our patients in Columbia.
