Experience and Ongoing Training
Dr. Lowrance is a highly experienced dentist. With over 40 years’ experience, he has learned many lessons that only active practice can teach a dentist. But he has not been content to let experience be his only teacher. Instead, he has sought out some of the highest levels of training available for dentists. This includes learning important disciplines that provide a strong foundation for the FOY ® Dentures procedure. He has studied cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry at the premier postgraduate dental program, the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. In 2007, he achieved the rank of LVI Fellow, an honor few dentists achieve.
Dr. Lowrance is the only dentist in South Texas and Coastal Bend trained in neuromuscular dentistry, including the use of computerized diagnosis. This makes him the only denture dentist in the area who is certified in the foundational disciplines crucial for FOY ® Dentures.
Not Just a Dentist
Though Dr. Lowrance has put more time and effort into his continuing education than most dentists. But this hasn’t stopped him from exploring other disciplines critical to the overall health of his patients. Dr. Lowrance became a board-certified nutritionist in 1998. Since diet is one of the critical factors that influence a person’s oral health, his training as a nutritionist helps make Dr. Lowrance a better denture dentist. He can help his patients maintain their teeth, but it also helps patients who have lost their teeth. Since he understands how important nutrition is for his patients, he knows that being able to bite and chew is critical to ongoing oral and overall health. This is part of the reason why he decided to become a FOY ® Dentures dentist. FOY ® Dentures are designed to give people the best chewing ability of any dentures, especially when designed as implant dentures.
Demand for Dentures in Corpus Christi
As with the rest of the country, the population of Corpus Christi is getting older, which means more people are needing to see a denture dentist. In 2016, about 13.6% of the population is age 65 and older, up from 11.9% in 2013. With a complete tooth loss rate of about 15%, and a population of around 305,000, we can expect that the total number of people who can benefit from full dentures is about 6200.
But the story of life in Corpus Christi isn’t just about living longer, it’s about people wanting to enjoy their longer years. This means getting dentures that don’t diminish your quality of life. FOY ® Dentures are designed to help people make the most of their extended life. They not only make you look younger, they can make you feel younger, too, with better neuromuscular support and function. That means that whether you love deep sea fishing or birdwatching, you will be better able to get support for your core strength.
