Don’t Let Cheap Dentures Prevent You from Enjoying Retirement

It’s a day you’ve worked for all your life: it’s finally time to retire. Putting work aside means you will finally have time to enjoy all the things you never got around to when you had a job. But will you really be able to enjoy them? Maybe not as much if you have cheap dentures, which can limit your life.

Here’s how cheap dentures can interfere with some of the most desired retirement activities of our generation.

Travel

With limited time off from your job, plus kids to haul around, lots of extraneous expenses, and a house that you are tied down to, it can be hard to travel to all the destinations you dreamed about. But now that you’re retired, you can cut some of those ties that bound you down. And if you saved properly, you’ll be able to travel to your heart’s content.

But dentures can make it a lot less fun to travel. Dentures that don’t stay in place can make it hard to enjoy exotic local cuisines. If you have a hard time getting around, partly because of poorly fitting dentures, it can be harder to enjoy walking around your destinations. And having to take dentures out to soak them can be a pain when traveling.

Family Time

But dentures can be just as limiting if you want to stay home and spend more time with your family. No one wants to have to bow out of a family dinner because you won’t be able to eat the steak that’s being served, nor have to conceal your mouth as you eat because your dentures get dislodged. You want to be free to talk and joke and laugh with your family without worrying that your dentures will come flying out.

And keeping up with your grandkids is hard enough, anyway. It’s even harder if your dentures make it hard for you to walk.

Cooking

When you and your spouse were both working, it was hard to find time to cook. Eating at restaurants or at home with carryout became necessities when you were busy with work and other commitments. Now that you have the time to get back into experimenting in the kitchen, don’t let dentures ruin it for you.

You need a good sense of taste in order to be able to enjoy cooking, and good neuromuscular support from dentures can make it easier to stand when preparing food.

Gardening

Bending down to plant, weed, and harvest can be hard on the back. Without good neuromuscular support from your dentures, it’s even harder.

And half the fun of gardening comes from enjoying what you’ve grown–cheap dentures might not let you enjoy a lot of that fresh produce.

Fishing

There are few things that say a relaxing retirement like days and days of fishing. No matter what kind of fishing you enjoy, quality dentures can help. Whether you need improved balance to walk out to the middle of your favorite fly fishing stream or improved strength to haul in a large marlin while deep sea fishing, good neuromuscular support from your dentures can really help.

And, of course, you want to be able to comfortably eat what you catch.

Golf

If there’s any sport that depends on maximizing your strength and balance from a stable core, it’s golf. Not having a stable core can make it hard to maximize distance and definitely ruin your aim, both in driving and in your short game.

You’ve worked hard to develop your game so far, don’t let cheap dentures set you back!
