Q&A With Dr. Ken Siegel
Dr. Kenneth Siegel and FOY™ Dentures were featured in Suburban Life magazine
Why did you decide to start offering FOY™ Dentures at your dental practice?
I wanted to be a better denture dentist and make dentures that fit well and offered exceptional esthetics. I was tired of a denture technique that didn’t guarantee quality results for my patients.
How is being a denture dentist different with the advent of FOY™ Dentures?
Everything is more predictable. As a denture dentist I can now offer an excellent fitting set of dentures as well as offer a way to help make denture wearers have a more youthful look.
What is the most common complaint about economy dentures that you hear as a denture dentist?
That they don’t fit well, which usually means that they are loose, and are ugly, which makes people reluctant to smile.
What advice would you give to a patient who is considering FOY™ Dentures versus traditional dentures?
Don’t hesitate. You might pay more for SFLD but they are worth it because they will always fit better than traditional dentures since your denture dentist is taking your muscles into consideration by using a TENS unit.
Denture Options in Blue Bell and Philadelphia
Before and After of one of Dr. Siegel’s FOY™ Dentures Patients
As with the rest of the country, Pennsylvania’s population is aging, which means that more and more people in the Blue Bell area are living longer—and living longer with dentures. As more people have dentures and as they live with them for these prolonged periods, we have become more acutely aware of the limitations of dentures and the need to improve them.
Traditional dentures rarely fit very well, and when they don’t fit, people experience many problems. Poorly fitting dentures make it hard to eat, hard to talk, and hard to smile with confidence. They can speed the loss of jawbone that is a normal consequence of lost teeth and can dramatically impact a person’s appearance. Traditional dentures are often too short for a person’s face, contributing to the appearance of jowls. They also have teeth that are set back too far, resulting in a sunken appearance.
FOY™ Dentures utilize neuromuscular principles to improve on the traditional dentures process. By utilizing a fuller understanding of the mouth system, the neuromuscular dentures approach allows for dentures that are designed to fit the mouth in motion using a dynamic impression of the mouth muscles. This leads to balanced forces on the dentures so they don’t pinch, cause sores, or speed up the loss of jawbone.
FOY™ Dentures get their name because they do improve the appearance of the face. With a proper height, they restore the youthful proportion of the face. And because FOY™ Dentures are more stable than traditional dentures, they can set the teeth outward in a more natural position, eliminating the sunken appearance of traditional dentures.
These improvements can really contribute to a better quality of life for people in the Blue Bell area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Because the golden years should be truly golden, and FOY™ Dentures can help make them better for anyone who has lost their teeth.
