Dr. Nehawandian received her DDS from the University of the Pacific in 1989, but that was only the beginning of her education as a denture dentist. She has honored with fellowships from three of the most prestigious dental organizations in the world. In 1989, Dr. Nehawandian received recognition with a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor achieved by only 7% of the dentists in the country.
Then she was recognized as a Fellow by the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, where she has accumulated over 280 hours of advanced dentistry training in a number of subjects, including dental implants and neuromuscular dentistry, laying an excellent foundation for her work as a Fountain of Youth Dentures™ dentist.
Most recently, she has been recognized as a Fellow by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. This final fellowship required not only that she demonstrate that she had received a requisite number of hours of continuing education–she had to demonstrate successful dental implant cases. She has received additional fellowships from the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics and the International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics.
Top Down Dental is a dental practice focused on a unified approach to dental health. Denture dentist Dr. Nancy Nehawandian emphasizes the connection between the mouth and the rest of the body. Because Fountain of Youth Dentures™ allow for a comprehensive approach that incorporates neuromuscular dentistry into the process of fitting dentures, it was a natural fit for this denture dentist.
Denture Demand in Los Gatos
Los Gatos is likely to have modest demand for a denture dentist. Los Gatos is one of the more affluent communities in the nation, with an annual average household income of over $212,000, compared with about $92,000 for Santa Clara County and $61,000 for California. Most residents of Los Gatos have received a college degree, with a significant portion having a graduate or professional degree. Few failed to graduate high school. In addition, thanks to proactive legal actions by Santa Clara County, the county has a smoking rate roughly half that of the nation as a whole. Obesity rates are lower than most of the country, ranking in the top 10% of all counties for both males and females. All of these factors mean that more residents of Los Gatos are likely to retain their teeth longer.
However, there are some factors that could significantly increase demand for denture dentists in Los Gatos. Prime among them is the fact that the county has a long life expectancy, in the top 10% for both women and men. Even if teeth are well-maintained, age has an impact on teeth, and by age 85, nearly 40% of people have lost all their teeth. Partly related to the long life expectancy, Los Gatos has an older population than most of California, with over 17% age 65 and over, compared to about 12% for the state as a whole.
Why Fountain of Youth Dentures™ Are Ideal for Los Gatos
With a lower edentulous rate than other areas, people who have lost their teeth want dentures that don’t look like dentures. They want dentures that look attractive, function well, and don’t slip. Because residents of Los Gatos tend to be older but live surrounded by more youthful communities, they are likely to feel the pressure to maintain a youthful appearance.
Fountain of Youth Dentures™ meet these demands. They are highly attractive, being made with some the most advanced materials and techniques available for dentures. And because they provide a significant rejuvenation of facial appearance, Fountain of Youth Dentures™ can help Los Gatos residents maintain a youthful appearance that helps them fit in with younger members of the surrounding community.
